Shai Harris has been passionate about drawing and the visual arts for as long as he can remember. His introduction to the world of tattooing came early, thanks to his childhood friend and now renowned tattoo artist, Durb Morrison -founder of the Hell City Tattoo Convention and owner of True Tattoo Supply.
Following high school, Shai attended Ringling College of Art and Design, where he earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Graphic Design. He went on to build a distinguished career in Atlanta as an award-winning designer, earning numerous accolades — including a regional Emmy Award. Ultimately, this journey led him back to his artistic roots and his love for tattooing.
After relocating to Madison, Georgia 7 years ago, Shai recognized a unique opportunity: to create a tattoo studio that not only offers exceptional artistry, but also reflects the charm, creativity, and character of the Madison community.
Emma “Ragan” Teal brings a bold, adventurous spirit to Madison Ink Tattoo. Growing up, she spent her time chasing adrenaline — surfing, wakeboarding, and skateboarding — always drawn to movement, freedom, and creative expression. That fearless energy even led her to dabble in professional wrestling and stock car racing, proving she’s never been one to shy away from a challenge.
Beyond the thrill, Emma has carried a lifelong passion for art. Creating has always been second nature to her, and tattooing felt like the perfect way to combine her love for art with her love for people. Inspired by everything from the laid-back vibes of Jimmy Buffett to the theatrical intensity of the band Ghost, Emma’s personality is as dynamic as her interests.
